3. Γνωρίζω δὲ ὑμῖν

Γνωρίζω (I make known) δὲ ὑμῖν, ἀδελφοί, τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ὃ εὐηγγελισάμην (I preached) ὑμῖν, ὃ καὶ παρελάβετε (you received), ἐν ᾧ καὶ ἑστήκατε (you stand), δι᾿ οὗ καὶ σῴζεσθε (you are saved)

Γνωρίζω (I make known) δὲ ὑμῖν, ἀδελφοί, τὸ εὐαγγέλιον

ἐπίστευσαν (they believed) τῇ γραφῇ καὶ τῷ λόγῳ ὃν εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς.

ἐπίστευσαν (they believed)

τῇ γραφῇ καὶ τῷ λόγῳ

ν εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς.

They believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus said.

12. ὁ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ

ὁ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ οἷς ἐστὶν ὁ οἶκος οὗτός εἰσιν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ πρὸς τὸ πλοῖον αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ.

ἀνὴρ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ

οἷς ἐστὶν ὁ οἶκος οὗτός

εἰσιν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ

πρὸς τὸ πλοῖον αὐτῶν

ἐπὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ.

The man and the woman, to whom belongs this house, are on the way to their boat on the lake.

πνεῦμά ἐστιν καὶ ζωή ἐστιν.

The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

11. κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον

κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Ἰωάννου ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐποίησεν (he/she/it did) σημεῖα μέγαλα καὶ πόλλα ἐν τῇ πόλει τῆς Ἰερουσαλήμ, ἅ οἱ ὄχλοι εἶδον (they saw).

κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Ἰωάννου ὁ Ἰησοῦς

ἐποίησεν (he/she/it did) σημεῖα μέγαλα καὶ πόλλα

ἐν τῇ πόλει τῆς Ἰερουσαλήμ,

ἅ οἱ ὄχλοι εἶδον (they saw).

According to the Gospel of John, Jesus did great and many signs in the city of Jerusalem, which the crowds saw.

10. Νῦν ἡ ψυχή μου

Νῦν ἡ ψυχή (soul) μου τετάρακται (he/she/it is troubled), καὶ τί εἴπω; πάτερ, σῶσόν (save!) με ἐκ τῆς ὥρας ταύτης; ἀλλὰ διὰ τοῦτο ἦλθον (I came) εἰς τὴν ὥραν ταύτην. πάτερ, δόξασόν (glorify!) σου τὸ ὄνομα. ἦλθεν (he/she/it came) οὖν φωνὴ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ· καὶ ἐδόξασα (I glorified) καὶ πάλιν δοξάσω (I will glorify).... ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν· οὐ δι᾿ ἐμὲ ἡ φωνὴ αὕτη γέγονεν (he/she/it came) ἀλλὰ δι᾿ ὑμᾶς.

καὶ ἐδόξασα (I glorified) καὶ πάλιν δοξάσω (I will glorify)....

ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν·

οὐ δι᾿ ἐμὲ ἡ φωνὴ αὕτη γέγονεν (he/she/it came)

ἀλλὰ δι᾿ ὑμᾶς.

“Now my soul is troubled, and what can I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and I will glorify it again….” And Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come for my sake, but for yours.”
