Creating Databases in Excel 2007 for Flashworks

I have exhausted all options and cannot get Excel to save the files as tab delimited without it wanting to convert it to notepad. The help section is very limited, and is only for people who are profficient in Excel. Has anyone accomplished a vocab list from Excel, and import it properly into Flashworks successfully? If so, please post with as much detail as possible.
