“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters, and even his own life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem), he cannot be my disciple.
He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life (psychē | ψυχῇ | dat sg fem), what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will wear.
But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) will be demanded of you. And what you have prepared for yourself, whose will it be?’
Then I will say to my soul (psychē | ψυχῇ | dat sg fem), “Soul (psychē | ψυχή | voc sg fem), you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest, eat, drink, be merry.”’
In answer he said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your life (psychē | ψυχῇ | dat sg fem), and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
For whoever wants to save his life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) will lose it, but whoever loses his life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) for my sake, this person will save it.
Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you whether it is lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) or to destroy it?”
