Jesus replied, “Will you lay down your life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) for me? I tell you the solemn truth, the rooster will not crow before you deny me three times.
“Now is my heart (psychē | ψυχή | nom sg fem) deeply troubled. And what am I to say? ‘Father, deliver me from this hour’? But for this very purpose I have come to this hour!
The one who loves his life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) loses it, and the one who hates his life (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem) in this world preserves it for eternal life.
The Jews surrounded him and asked, “How much longer will you provoke us to anger (psychēn | ψυχήν | acc sg fem)? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
