The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar (pseustēn | ψεύστην | acc sg masc), because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.
If someone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar (pseustēs | ψεύστης | nom sg masc); for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Who is the liar (pseustēs | ψεύστης | nom sg masc) but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This one is the Antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
