You belong to your father the devil, and your will is to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and never did stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he is giving expression to his own nature, for he is a liar (pseustēs | ψεύστης | nom sg masc) and the father of lies.

But if by my lie (pseusmati | ψεύσματι | dat sg neut) God’s truthfulness abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?

O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you, avoiding the unholy chatter and contradictions of what is falsely named (pseudōnymou | ψευδωνύμου | gen sg fem) “knowledge,”

For false christs (pseudochristoi | ψευδόχριστοι | nom pl masc) and false prophets will arise and will offer signs and wonders in order to deceive, if possible, the elect.

For false (pseudochristoi | ψευδόχριστοι | nom pl masc) messiahs and false prophets will appear, and they will perform great signs and wonders so as to lead astray, if that were possible, even the elect.

Outside are the dogs, those who practice the occult, the sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood (pseudos | ψεῦδος | acc sg neut).

But nothing that is unclean — no one who practices idolatry or falsehood (pseudos | ψεῦδος | acc sg neut) — will ever enter it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

and in their mouth no lie (pseudos | ψεῦδος | nom sg neut) was found; they are blameless.

But the anointing you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and not a lie (pseudos | ψεῦδος | nom sg neut), just as it has taught you, abide in him.

I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie (pseudos | ψεῦδος | nom sg neut) comes from the truth.
