And they did this, not simply as we had hoped, but first they gave themselves to the Lord and then to us (hēmin | ἡμῖν | dat pl 1st), by the will of God.

begging us (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) with great insistence for the privilege of joining in this ministry to the saints.

For if I have boasted to him about anything regarding you, I have not been embarrassed, but just as everything we said to you was true, so also our (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) boast to Titus about you has proved true.

Because of this we are encouraged. And in addition to our (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) own (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) encouragement, we rejoiced more than ever at the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.

So then, even though I wrote to you, it was not on account of the offender, nor on account of the one offended, but that your earnestness toward us (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) might be revealed to you in the sight of God.

now I rejoice, not because you were made sad, but because your sadness led to repentance; for you were made sad as God intended, so that in nothing you suffered loss by us (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st).

And not only by his arrival but also by the encouragement with which he was encouraged by you, as he reported to us (hēmin | ἡμῖν | dat pl 1st) your strong affection, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

But God, who encourages the downcast, encouraged us (hēmas | ἡμᾶς | acc pl 1st) with the arrival of Titus.

For even when we (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) came to Macedonia, our (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) bodies had no rest, but on all sides we were distressed — from the outside came conflicts, from within there were fears.

I have great confidence in you; I take great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our (hēmōn | ἡμῶν | gen pl 1st) distress.
