And the ruling priests and the scribes heard of this and began seeking how they could destroy him, for they feared (ephobounto | ἐφοβοῦντο | imperf pass ind 3 pl) him, because all the people were impressed by his teaching.

Now they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on ahead of them. They were filled with awe, but those who followed behind were afraid (ephobounto | ἐφοβοῦντο | imperf pass ind 3 pl). And taking the twelve aside again, he began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him:

But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid (ephobounto | ἐφοβοῦντο | imperf pass ind 3 pl) to ask him.

for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke with them and said to them, “Take courage! It is I. Do (phobeisthe | φοβεῖσθε | pres pass imperative 2 pl) not be afraid!” (phobeisthe | φοβεῖσθε | pres pass imperative 2 pl)

because Herod feared (ephobeito | ἐφοβεῖτο | imperf pass ind 3 sg) John, knowing him to be man, a just and holy man, and he protected him.

But Jesus, ignoring what was said, said to the synagogue official, “Do (phobou | φοβοῦ | pres pass imperative 2 sg) not be afraid (phobou | φοβοῦ | pres pass imperative 2 sg); only believe.”

Then the Then woman, with fear (phobētheisa | φοβηθεῖσα | aor pass ptcp nom sg fem) and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole the truth.

They came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had the legion, sitting, clothed and in his right mind, the one who had the legion, and they were afraid (ephobēthēsan | ἐφοβήθησαν | aor pass ind 3 pl).

And they were filled (ephobēthēsan | ἐφοβήθησαν | aor pass ind 3 pl) with great fear great and said to one another, “Who then is this, is that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
