Endure your trials as divine discipline (paideian | παιδείαν | acc sg fem). God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline?
And have you forgotten the word of encouragement that speaks to you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline (paideias | παιδείας | gen sg fem) of the Lord, nor lose heart when corrected by him.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correcting, for training (paideian | παιδείαν | acc sg fem) in righteousness,
For though you have innumerable guardians (paidagōgous | παιδαγωγούς | acc pl masc) in Christ, you do not have many fathers, because I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
Therefore put to death Therefore whatever is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, lust (pathos | πάθος | acc sg neut), evil desire, evil and covetousness, which is idolatry.
