I am now rejoicing in my sufferings (pathēmasin | παθήμασιν | dat pl neut) on your behalf, and in my flesh am completing what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ in flesh my for the sake of his body, his which is the church,

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings (pathēmatōn | παθημάτων | gen pl neut), becoming like him in his death,

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions (pathēmasin | παθήμασιν | dat pl neut) and desires.

And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in our sufferings (pathēmatōn | παθημάτων | gen pl neut), so also you will share in our encouragement.

If we are distressed, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement that you experience in your patient endurance of the same sufferings (pathēmatōn | παθημάτων | gen pl neut) that we also suffer.

For just as the sufferings (pathēmata | παθήματα | nom pl neut) of Christ overflow to us, so also does the encouragement we receive through Christ overflow.

For I consider that the sufferings (pathēmata | παθήματα | nom pl neut) of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.

For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions (pathēmata | παθήματα | nom pl neut), aroused by the law, were at work in our bodies to bear fruit for death.

So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are a very devout people.

And they took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what is this new teaching being presented by you?
