and they might return to soberness out of the snare (pagidos | παγίδος | gen sg fem) of the devil (having been captured alive by him) in order to do his will.
But those wishing to be rich fall into temptation and a snare (pagida | παγίδα | acc sg fem) and many foolish and harmful passions that plunge the people into ruin and destruction.
And it is also necessary for an overseer to have a good reputation with those outside, lest he fall into reproach, which is the snare (pagida | παγίδα | acc sg fem) of the devil.
