When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come; but when the baby (paidion | παιδίον | acc sg neut) is born, she no longer remembers the anguish, because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.
But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children (paidia | παιδία | acc pl neut) come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.
and he from inside answers, ‘Do not cause me trouble; already the door has been locked and my children (paidia | παιδία | nom pl neut) are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything.’
and said to them, “Whoever receives this child (paidion | παιδίον | acc sg neut) in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. So the one who is least among you all, this is the one who is great.”
They are like children (paidiois | παιδίοις | dat pl neut) sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance; we wailed in mourning, but you did not weep.’
So he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents (paidion | παιδίον | acc sg neut) brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,
