I have told you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”
for the Father himself loves you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), because you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) have loved me and have come to believe that I came forth from God.
In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) that I will intercede with the Father on your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) behalf;
“I have told you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) these things using veiled language. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) in veiled language but will tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) plainly about the Father.
On that day you will question me about nothing. I tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) the solemn truth: whatever you ask of the Father in my name he will give to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd).
So for now you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) have sorrow; but I will see you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) again, and your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) heart will rejoice, and no one will take your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) joy from you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd).
I tell you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) the solemn truth, you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) will weep and wail, and the world will rejoice; you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) will be sorrowful, but your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) sorrow will be turned into joy.
