Now I urge you, brethren (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in fervent prayer to God on my behalf,
I myself am convinced my brethren (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able also to instruct one another.
if your brother (adelphos | ἀδελφός | nom sg masc) is being hurt by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy by what you eat that brother for whom Christ died.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another, but resolve instead, never to put an obstacle or a trap in a brother’s (adelphō | ἀδελφῷ | dat sg masc) way.
Why do you pass judgment on your brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc)? Or again, why do you hold your brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc) in contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
I appeal you therefore, brethren (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God — this is a reasonable act of worship for you.
I do not want you to be uninformed, my brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), of this mystery — so that you may not be wise in your own conceits — that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
