For we want you to know, brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), about the affliction we suffered in Asia, that we were burdened excessively beyond our power to cope, so that we despaired even of living.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother (adelphos | ἀδελφός | nom sg masc), to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:
You know that the household of Stephanus were the first converts in the province of Achaia, and that they devoted themselves to the service of the saints. So I urge you, brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc),
Now concerning Apollos our brother: (adelphou | ἀδελφοῦ | gen sg masc) I strongly urged him to go to you with the other brothers (adelphōn | ἀδελφῶν | gen pl masc), but it was not at all his intention to go now. He will go when he has an opportunity.
So no one should treat him with contempt. Help him continue his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am expecting him with the brothers (adelphōn | ἀδελφῶν | gen pl masc).
So then, my dear brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Now this I declare, brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Then he appeared to (adelphois | ἀδελφοῖς | dat pl masc) more than five hundred brothers (adelphois | ἀδελφοῖς | dat pl masc) at the same time, most of whom are still living, although some have fallen asleep.
