Finally, brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | voc pl masc), rejoice, strive for maturity, take courage, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
I urged Titus to visit you and I sent the brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc) with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not behave in the same way?
And when I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for when the brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | nom pl masc) came from Macedonia they supplied my need.
Therefore I considered it necessary to urge the brothers (adelphous | ἀδελφούς | acc pl masc) to go to you in advance and to arrange beforehand the generous contribution you had previously promised, so that it would be ready as a generous gift and not as something you had to do.
But I am sending these brothers (adelphous | ἀδελφούς | acc pl masc) so that what we say in praise of you may not be an empty boast in this instance, that you may be ready just as I said you would be.
As for Titus, he is my companion and fellow worker among you. As for our brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | nom pl masc), they are delegates of the churches, an honor to Christ.
And we are sending along with them our brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc) whom we have often tested in many matters and found to be eager, and now he is all the more eager because of his great confidence in you.
And we sent along with him the brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc) who is highly respected throughout all the churches for his work in the gospel.
I had no relief for my spirit, because I could not find my brother (adelphon | ἀδελφόν | acc sg masc) Titus there. So I said good-bye to them and went on to Macedonia.
