writing by their hand, “From the apostles and elders, your brothers (adelphoi | ἀδελφοί | nom pl masc), to the Gentile brothers (adelphois | ἀδελφοῖς | dat pl masc) in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, Greetings!
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, together with the whole church, to send men chosen from among them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas — Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers (adelphois | ἀδελφοῖς | dat pl masc) —
After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “My brothers, you know that in days of old God made a choice among you, that through my mouth the Gentiles should hear the message of the gospel and believe.
So being sent on their way by the church, they went through both Phoenicia and Samaria, narrating in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers (adelphois | ἀδελφοῖς | dat pl masc).
Now some men came down from Judea and began to teach the brothers (adelphous | ἀδελφούς | acc pl masc), “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
Therefore let it be known to you, my brothers, that through this one forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you; and from all from which you could not be set free by the law of Moses,
After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “My brothers, if there is any among you with a word of encouragement for the people, say it.”
