When Jesus heard these things, he admired him. Turning to the crowd that was following (akolouthounti | ἀκολουθοῦντι | pres act ptcp dat sg masc) him, he said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow (akolouthei | ἀκολούθει | pres act imperative 2 sg) me.”
who, when he was in Galilee, used to follow (ēkolouthoun | ἠκολούθουν | imperf act ind 3 pl) him and care for his needs; and many other women were there who had come up with him to Jerusalem.
And Peter followed (ēkolouthēsen | ἠκολούθησεν | aor act ind 3 sg) him from a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest, and he was sitting with the officers and warming himself at the fire.
And he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city and a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you; follow (akolouthēsate | ἀκολουθήσατε | aor act imperative 2 pl) him.
And those who went before and those who followed (akolouthountes | ἀκολουθοῦντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc) were crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
And Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following (ēkolouthei | ἠκολούθει | imperf act ind 3 sg) him on the way.
Now they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on ahead of them. They were filled with awe, but those who followed (akolouthountes | ἀκολουθοῦντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc) behind were afraid. And taking the twelve aside again, he began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him:
