He said to them, “Look, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow (akolouthēsate | ἀκολουθήσατε | aor act imperative 2 pl) him into the house into which he enters
And immediately he could see again, and began to follow (ēkolouthei | ἠκολούθει | imperf act ind 3 sg) Jesus, giving glory to God. And all the people, when they saw this, gave praise to God.
Upon hearing this, Jesus said to him, “One thing you still lack: sell all that you have and distribute the proceeds to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow (akolouthei | ἀκολούθει | pres act imperative 2 sg) me.”
He said to another person, “Follow (akolouthei | ἀκολούθει | pres act imperative 2 sg) me.” But that one said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
Answering, John said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he (akolouthei | ἀκολουθεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) does (akolouthei | ἀκολουθεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) not follow (akolouthei | ἀκολουθεῖ | pres act ind 3 sg) you with us.”
Then he said to all, “If someone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross daily, and let him follow (akoloutheitō | ἀκολουθείτω | pres act imperative 3 sg) me.
When the crowds found out about it, they followed (ēkolouthēsan | ἠκολούθησαν | aor act ind 3 pl) him. So he welcomed them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing.
