Now when they heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) this they were cut to the heart, and they said to Peter and the other apostles, “My brothers, what shall we do?”
So then, exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you are both seeing and hearing (akouete | ἀκούετε | pres act ind 2 pl).
“Men of Israel, hear (akousate | ἀκούσατε | aor act imperative 2 pl) these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know —
Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians — we hear (akouomen | ἀκούομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”
And how do (akouomen | ἀκούομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) we hear (akouomen | ἀκούομεν | pres act ind 1 pl), each of us in his own language to which he was born?
But when this sound was heard the crowd gathered, and they were perplexed, because each one was hearing (ēkouon | ἤκουον | imperf act ind 3 pl) them speak in his own language.
While he was with them, he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard (ēkousate | ἠκούσατε | aor act ind 2 pl) from me;
Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When (akousas | ἀκούσας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) Simon Peter heard (akousas | ἀκούσας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) that it was the Lord, he tucked in his outer garment (for he was wearing nothing underneath), and jumped into the sea.
On hearing (akousas | ἀκούσας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) these words, Pilate brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s bench in the place called “Stone Pavement,” or in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”
