After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “My brothers, you know that in days of old God made a choice among you, that through my mouth the Gentiles should hear (akousai | ἀκοῦσαι | aor act inf ) the message of the gospel and believe.

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) of it, they tore their clothes, rushed out into the crowd, and shouted,

This man listened (ēkousen | ἤκουσεν | aor act ind 3 sg) to Paul speaking. Looking intently at him, Paul saw that he had faith to be healed,

When the Gentiles heard (akouonta | ἀκούοντα | pres act ptcp nom pl neut) this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

On the following Sabbath almost the whole city assembled together to hear (akousai | ἀκοῦσαι | aor act inf ) the word of the Lord.

So Paul stood up, and gesturing with his hand, said, “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen: (akousate | ἀκούσατε | aor act imperative 2 pl)

who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and wanted to hear (akousai | ἀκοῦσαι | aor act inf ) the word of God.

The report of all this was heard (ēkousthē | ἠκούσθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) in the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch.

When they heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) these things, they fell silent, and they glorified God, saying, “So then even to the Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

I also heard (ēkousa | ἤκουσα | aor act ind 1 sg) a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; slaughter and eat!’
