And when they heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) that he was addressing them in the Hebrew language, they became even more quiet. And he said:
What then is to be done? They (akousontai | ἀκούσονται | fut mid ind 3 pl) will (akousontai | ἀκούσονται | fut mid ind 3 pl) certainly hear (akousontai | ἀκούσονται | fut mid ind 3 pl) that you have come.
And when (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) they heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) it, they began to praise God. And they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands of believers there are among the Jews, and they are all zealous for the law.
When they heard (akousantes | ἀκούσαντες | aor act ptcp nom pl masc) this, they were filled with anger and began to cry out, saying, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”
And you see and hear (akouete | ἀκούετε | pres act ind 2 pl) that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable number of people, saying that gods made by hand are not gods at all.
and said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They said to him, “Why, we (ēkousamen | ἠκούσαμεν | aor act ind 1 pl) have (ēkousamen | ἠκούσαμεν | aor act ind 1 pl) not even heard (ēkousamen | ἠκούσαμεν | aor act ind 1 pl) if there is a Holy Spirit.”
