Getting started

When you start FlashWorks, it opens its preferred database and gets all the words specified in the Saved Preferences.

You can then Mix the order of the words if you wish.

You then have to decide whether to use FlashWorks in Automatic or Manual mode.

In Automatic, FlashWorks automatically moves from word to definition to the next word, delaying the number of seconds set in Saved Preferences.

You can press Pause to stop, and then Resume to continue.

If you chose Manual, then you will use the buttons in the top right of the screen. When you are looking at a term, any of the three buttons named "Next" will take you to the definition.

When you are looking at the definition, you have a choice. You can just use Next to page your way through the words. But if you want to have FlashWorks remember what words you get right and wrong, click on the Wrong or Right button.

There are detailed online instructions that tell you how you can use this feature to divide your word list and concentrate on the words that are causing you the most trouble. But if you use this feature, be sure to save the changes to the database; otherwise, all the Wrong and Right clicks will not be remembered.
