And look, he is speaking boldly (parrēsia | παρρησίᾳ | dat sg fem) and they are saying nothing to him. Is it possible that our rulers know for sure that this man is the Christ?
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you clean off the outside of the cup and the plate (paropsidos | παροψίδος | gen sg fem) while inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
And now, dear children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame in his presence when he comes (parousia | παρουσίᾳ | dat sg fem).
waiting for and hastening the coming (parousian | παρουσίαν | acc sg fem) of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the elements will melt in the heat.
and saying, “Where is the promise of his coming (parousias | παρουσίας | gen sg fem)? For ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything has gone along as it has from the beginning of creation.”
For we did not follow cunningly crafted stories when we made known to you the coming (parousian | παρουσίαν | acc sg fem) of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
