Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious; and he sent and killed all (pantas | πάντας | acc pl masc) the male children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had determined from the wise men.

and gathering all (pantas | πάντας | acc pl masc) the ruling priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born.

Now when king Herod heard this, he was troubled, and all (pasa | πᾶσα | nom sg fem) Jerusalem with him;

So all (pasai | πᾶσαι | nom pl fem) the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.

We had previously suffered and been shamefully treated in Philippi, as you know, but we had the courage (eparrēsiasametha | ἐπαρρησιασάμεθα | aor mid ind 1 pl) in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in spite of great opposition.

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I (parrēsiasōmai | παρρησιάσωμαι | aor mid subj 1 sg) may (parrēsiasōmai | παρρησιάσωμαι | aor mid subj 1 sg) declare (parrēsiasōmai | παρρησιάσωμαι | aor mid subj 1 sg) it boldly (parrēsiasōmai | παρρησιάσωμαι | aor mid subj 1 sg), as I ought to speak.

For the king knows about these matters, and to him I am speaking boldly (parrēsiazomenos | παρρησιαζόμενος | pres mid ptcp nom sg masc), for I am persuaded that none of these things has escaped his notice, for this was not done in a corner.

And he (eparrēsiazeto | ἐπαρρησιάζετο | imperf mid ind 3 sg) went into the synagogue and spoke (eparrēsiazeto | ἐπαρρησιάζετο | imperf mid ind 3 sg) boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them concerning the things of the kingdom of God.

He began to speak (parrēsiazesthai | παρρησιάζεσθαι | pres mid inf ) boldly in the synagogue, but when they heard him, Priscilla and Aquila took him and explained more accurately to him the way of God.

So they stayed there for a considerable time, speaking (parrēsiazomenoi | παρρησιαζόμενοι | pres mid ptcp nom pl masc) out boldly about the Lord, who witnessed to the message of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done through their hands.
