as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone that makes them stumble (proskommatos | προσκόμματος | gen sg neut) and a rock that trips them up; but the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Why not? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling (proskommatos | προσκόμματος | gen sg neut) stone,
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined (proskollēthēsetai | προσκολληθήσεται | fut pass ind 3 sg) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
