Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in a day? If a person walks during the day, he (proskoptei | προσκόπτει | pres act ind 3 sg) will (proskoptei | προσκόπτει | pres act ind 3 sg) not stumble (proskoptei | προσκόπτει | pres act ind 3 sg), because he sees the light of this world.
When the rain came down, and the waters rose, and the winds blew and beat (prosekopsan | προσέκοψαν | aor act ind 3 pl) against that house, it collapsed — and great was its fall!”
and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it stands written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘on their hands they will hold you up, lest you strike (proskopsēs | προσκόψῃς | aor act subj 2 sg) your foot against a stone.’”
We do not put a stumbling (proskopēn | προσκοπήν | acc sg fem) block (proskopēn | προσκοπήν | acc sg fem) in anyone’s way, so that our ministry may not be faulted.
and, “A stone that makes people stumble (proskommatos | προσκόμματος | gen sg neut) and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble, as they were destined to do, since they do not obey the word.
Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. All food is indeed clean, but it is wrong to cause another to (proskommatos | προσκόμματος | gen sg neut) stumble (proskommatos | προσκόμματος | gen sg neut) by what you eat.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another, but resolve instead, never to put an obstacle (proskomma | πρόσκομμα | acc sg neut) or a trap in a brother’s way.
