And he was teaching and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a hideout (spēlaion | σπήλαιον | acc sg neut) for robbers.’”
And he said to them, “It stands written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a den (spēlaion | σπήλαιον | acc sg neut) of thieves.”
waiting for and hastening (speudontas | σπεύδοντας | pres act ptcp acc pl masc) the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the elements will melt in the heat.
and I saw him saying to me, ‘Make (speuson | σπεῦσον | aor act imperative 2 sg) haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’
For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening (espeuden | ἔσπευδεν | imperf act ind 3 sg), if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem for the day of Pentecost.
As he came to that spot, Jesus looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry (speusas | σπεύσας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) and climb down, for today I must stay at your house.”
