(Now this man bought a field with the reward of his unjust deed, and falling headfirst he burst open in the middle and all his intestines (splanchna | σπλάγχνα | nom pl neut) gushed out.
So he left that place and went to his father. While he was still a long way from home, his father saw him and was filled (esplanchnisthē | ἐσπλαγχνίσθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) with compassion; he ran and fell upon his neck and kissed him.
But a Samaritan who was traveling came to where he was, and when he saw him, was moved (esplanchnisthē | ἐσπλαγχνίσθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) with compassion for him.
indeed frequently it has even cast him into fire and into water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have (splanchnistheis | σπλαγχνισθείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) compassion (splanchnistheis | σπλαγχνισθείς | aor pass ptcp nom sg masc) on us and help us.”
“I have compassion (splanchnizomai | σπλαγχνίζομαι | pres pass ind 1 sg) on the crowd, because they have stayed with me three days already and have had nothing to eat.
When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw the large crowd, and had compassion (esplanchnisthē | ἐσπλαγχνίσθη | aor pass ind 3 sg) on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.
