For see what eagerness this very thing — this sadness as God intended — has produced in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd); what defense of yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what deep concern, what punishment! In everything you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

For even if I made you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) sad by my letter, I do not regret it. Even if I did regret it — for I see that that letter did make you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) sad, though only for a short time —

And not only by his arrival but also by the encouragement with which he was encouraged by you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), as he reported to us your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) strong affection, your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) deep sorrow, your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) ardent concern for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

I have great confidence in you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd); I take great pride in you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd). I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our distress.

and I will be a father to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), and you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) will be sons and daughters to me,” says the Lord Almighty.

Therefore, “come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord, and “touch no unclean thing; then I will receive you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd),

Now as a fair exchange — I speak as to children — open wide your (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) hearts to us also.

We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) from us.

We have opened our mouth freely to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), Corinthians; our heart has been opened wide.

Thus as coworkers with him, we urge you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) not to receive the grace of God in vain.
