For even if I boast about it, and more than that, about the authority which the Lord gave us for building you up and not for tearing you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) down, I will not be ashamed.
Now I, Paul myself, appeal to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) by the meekness and gentleness of Christ — I who when present am “timid” among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), but when away am “bold” toward you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).
And in their prayers on your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) behalf they yearn for you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) because of the surpassing grace of God bestowed on you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd).
By their approval of this service, they glorify God for your obedience stemming from your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) confession in the gospel of Christ, and for the generosity of your partnership with them and with everyone.
The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) seed and enlarge the harvest of your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) righteousness.
And God is able to make all grace overflow to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), so that, in all things and at all times, having all you need, you may overflow in every kind of good work.
Therefore I considered it necessary to urge the brothers to go to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) in advance and to arrange beforehand the generous contribution you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) had previously promised, so that it would be ready as a generous gift and not as something you had to do.
Lest perhaps if some Macedonians should come with me and not find you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) ready, we — to say nothing of you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) — would be humiliated by this confidence.
