For this reason also I wrote you: to discover whether you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) could stand the test — if in everything you are obedient.

So I urge you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) to show that your love for him is real.

so that you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) should rather forgive and console him, lest he be swallowed up by excessive sorrow.

But if anyone has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow not for me, but in some measure — not to overstate the case — for all of you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).

For out of much distress and anguish of heart I wrote to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), with many tears, not to cause you sorrow but to let you know the love that I have especially for you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).

And I wrote this very thing so that when I came, I would not have sorrow from those who ought to make me rejoice, having confidence in you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) all that my joy would be the joy of (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) all.

For if I cause you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) sorrow, then who is there to make me glad except the one made sorrowful by me?

So I decided this within myself, not to come to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) again with sorrow.

Not that we are ruling over your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) faith, but we are workers with you for your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) joy; for by faith you have stood firm.

I call God as a witness against my soul, that it was to spare you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) that I did not come again to Corinth.
