Now God is the one who strengthens us, together with you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), in Christ, and has anointed us,

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the one who was proclaimed among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) by us — by me, Silvanus, and Timothy — was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”

But as surely as God is trustworthy, our word to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) has not been “Yes” and “No.”

through your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) help, to go on to Macedonia, and from Macedonia to come back to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) and to be helped by you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) on my way to Judea.

And because of this confidence, I was intending to come to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) first, so that you might have a second benefit —

just as also you have understood us partially, that we are your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) source of pride, as you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) also are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Now we are not writing you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) anything other than what you can read and also understand. But I hope that you will understand fully,

For our confidence is this, the testimony of our conscience, that with simplicity and sincerity like that of God, and not with earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).

as you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) also join in helping us by prayer, so that thanks may be given by many people on our behalf for the gracious gift granted to us through the help of many.

For we want you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) to know, brothers, about the affliction we suffered in Asia, that we were burdened excessively beyond our power to cope, so that we despaired even of living.
