But I say to you, love (agapate | ἀγαπᾶτε | pres act imperative 2 pl) your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love (agapēseis | ἀγαπήσεις | fut act ind 2 sg) your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

For see what eagerness this very thing — this sadness as God intended — has produced in you; what defense of yourselves, what indignation (aganaktēsin | ἀγανάκτησιν | acc sg fem), what alarm, what longing, what deep concern, what punishment! In everything you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

Indignant (aganaktōn | ἀγανακτῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the ruler of the synagogue said to the crowd, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

But some were indignant (aganaktountes | ἀγανακτοῦντες | pres act ptcp nom pl masc), and began saying to themselves, “For what purpose was this waste of ointment?

And hearing this, the ten began to be indignant (aganaktein | ἀγανακτεῖν | pres act inf ) at James and John.

But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant (ēganaktēsen | ἠγανάκτησεν | aor act ind 3 sg) and said to them, “Let the children come to me. Do not prevent them, for of such is the kingdom of God.
