and he is divided. An unmarried (agamos | ἄγαμος | nom sg fem) woman or a virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of the world, how to please her husband.

I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man (agamos | ἄγαμος | nom sg masc) is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord.

(however if she does, let her remain unmarried (agamos | ἄγαμος | nom sg fem) or else be reconciled to her husband), and a husband should not divorce his wife.

Now to the unmarried (agamois | ἀγάμοις | dat pl masc) and to the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am.

Let us rejoice and be glad (agalliōmen | ἀγαλλιῶμεν | pres act subj 1 pl) and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

But rejoice insofar as you now share the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed, you may also rejoice and be glad (agalliōmenoi | ἀγαλλιώμενοι | pres mid ptcp nom pl masc).

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though not seeing him now, yet believing in him, you rejoice (agalliasthe | ἀγαλλιᾶσθε | pres mid ind 2 pl) with joy unspeakable and filled with glory,

In this you rejoice (agalliasthe | ἀγαλλιᾶσθε | pres mid ind 2 pl), even if it is necessary for a short time to be made sorrowful by various trials,

And when he had brought them up into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced (ēgalliasato | ἠγαλλιάσατο | aor mid ind 3 sg), having placed his faith in God along with his entire household.

on account of this my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad (ēgalliasato | ἠγαλλιάσατο | aor mid ind 3 sg); moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope.
