The one who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves (agapōn | ἀγαπῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) me. And the one who loves (agapōn | ἀγαπῶν | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) me will be loved (agapēthēsetai | ἀγαπηθήσεται | fut pass ind 3 sg) by my Father, and I will love (agapēsō | ἀγαπήσω | fut act ind 1 sg) him and reveal myself to him.”

“If you love (agapate | ἀγαπᾶτε | pres act subj 2 pl) me, you will keep my commandments.

A new commandment I give to you: Love (agapate | ἀγαπᾶτε | pres act subj 2 pl) one another. Just as I have loved (ēgapēsa | ἠγάπησα | aor act ind 1 sg) you, you also must love (agapate | ἀγαπᾶτε | pres act subj 2 pl) one another.

One of his disciples — the one Jesus loved (ēgapa | ἠγάπα | imperf act ind 3 sg) — was reclining at table close beside Jesus.

It was just before the festival of Passover, and Jesus, knowing that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father, showed his love (agapēsas | ἀγαπήσας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) to his own who were in the world, loving (ēgapēsen | ἠγάπησεν | aor act ind 3 sg) them to the very end.

For they loved (ēgapēsan | ἠγάπησαν | aor act ind 3 pl) the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Therefore the Father loves (agapa | ἀγαπᾷ | pres act ind 3 sg) me, because I lay down my life in order that I may take it back again.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love (ēgapate | ἠγαπᾶτε | imperf act ind 2 pl) me, for I came from God and now I am here. I have not come on my own, but he sent me.

The Father loves (agapa | ἀγαπᾷ | pres act ind 3 sg) the Son and has placed everything in his hands.
