After this Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus (though a secret one due to his fear of the Jews) asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission (epetrepsen | ἐπέτρεψεν | aor act ind 3 sg), so he came and removed the body.
