To them it was revealed that not to themselves, but to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), they were ministering these things that now have been announced to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) through those who preached to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven — things into which angels long to look.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) investigated diligently and examined with care,

because you are obtaining the goal of your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) faith — the salvation of your souls.

so that the genuineness of your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) faith (which is more precious than gold that perishes), having been tested by fire, may be found to your praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, being preserved in heaven for you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd),

elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be yours (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) in ever increasing measure.

My brothers, if anyone among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) strays from the truth and someone brings him back,

Is anyone among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) sick? He should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Is anyone among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.

Above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath. Rather let your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) “Yes” be yes and your “No,” no, so that you may not fall under judgment.
