But do it with gentleness and respect, maintaining a clear conscience, so that in the very thing for which you are being slandered, those who are reviling your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.

but in your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) hearts set apart Christ as Lord, being ready at all times to make a defense to all who ask you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) for a word concerning the hope that is in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd).

And who is the one who will harm you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) if you become zealots for what is good?

Husbands, in the same way, live with them with understanding, showing honor to the woman as a weaker vessel, since you are joint heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) prayers may not be hindered.

when they observe with respect the purity of your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) life.

For you were like sheep, going astray, but now you have turned back to the shepherd and guardian of your (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) souls.

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd), leaving behind for you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) an example so that you might follow in his footsteps.

and maintain an honorable lifestyle among the Gentiles so that, with respect to the very things about which they slander you (hymōn | ὑμῶν | gen pl 2nd) as evildoers, they may, by observing your good works, glorify God on the day of visitation.

But you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, so that you may declare the glorious deeds of the one who called you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) out of darkness into his marvelous light.
