shepherd the flock of God among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), watching over it — not because you have to, but voluntarily, as God would have it; not for shameful gain but eagerly.
Therefore I, a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory that is about to be revealed, exhort the elders among you: (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd)
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, that is, the Spirit of God, is resting on you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).
Dear friends, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is taking place among you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), as though something strange were happening to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd).
Therefore since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same way of thinking, that is, that the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin,
This water prefigures baptism, which now saves you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) — not the removal of dirt from the body but the answer of a good conscience to God — by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
