But the anointing you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) received from him abides in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), and you have no need that anyone teach you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd). But as his anointing teaches you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd) about all things, and is true and not a lie, just as it has taught you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd), abide in him.

I have written these things to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) concerning those who are trying to deceive you (hymas | ὑμᾶς | acc pl 2nd).

Let what you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) heard from the beginning abide in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd). If what you heard from the beginning abides in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), then you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) will abide in the Son and in the Father.

I write to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), not because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.

But you (hymeis | ὑμεῖς | nom pl 2nd) have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth.

I have written to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), my children, because you know the Father. I have written to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), and you have overcome the evil one.

I am writing to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), young men, because you have overcome the evil one.

I am writing to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), my children, because your (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd) sins are forgiven on account of his name.

Yet it is a new commandment that I write to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), one that is true in him and in you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

Dear friends, it is not a new commandment that I write to you (hymin | ὑμῖν | dat pl 2nd), but an old commandment — one that you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the message you have already heard.
