but the Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) and the lawyers (those who had not been baptized by John) rejected the purpose of God for themselves.
So the scribes and the Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) were watching him carefully to see whether he healed on the Sabbath, so that they could find a reason to accuse him.
And they said to him, “The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, so also do the disciples of the Pharisees (Pharisaiōn | Φαρισαίων | gen pl masc), but yours continue to eat and drink.”
And the Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) and their scribes were grumbling at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”
And the scribes and the Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) began to ponder, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?”
It happened on one of those days when he was teaching, and sitting there were Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) and teachers of the law who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem, and power from the Lord was there for him to heal,
