In the meantime, when many thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they were trampling one another, Jesus began to say (to his disciples first), “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees (Pharisaiōn | Φαρισαίων | gen pl masc), which is hypocrisy.
When he went out from there, the scribes and the Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) began to be terribly hostile, and to question him sharply about many things,
But woe to you Pharisees! (Pharisaiois | Φαρισαίοις | dat pl masc) For you tithe mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, yet disregard justice and the love of God. These you should have done, without neglecting the others.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees (Pharisaioi | Φαρισαῖοι | nom pl masc) cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish; but the inside of you is full of greed and wickedness.
When Jesus finished speaking, a Pharisee (Pharisaios | Φαρισαῖος | nom sg masc) asked him to have a meal with him, so he went in and reclined at table.
When the Pharisee (Pharisaios | Φαρισαῖος | nom sg masc) who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him — that she is a sinner.”
Now there was a woman known in the city as a sinner, and when she learned that Jesus was reclining at table in the house of the Pharisee (Pharisaiou | Φαρισαίου | gen sg masc), she brought an alabaster jar of perfume,
Now one of the Pharisees (Pharisaiōn | Φαρισαίων | gen pl masc) asked him to eat with him, so he went into the house of the Pharisee (Pharisaiou | Φαρισαίου | gen sg masc) and took his place at table.
