Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes (phōleous | φωλεούς | acc pl masc), and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have lairs (phōleous | φωλεούς | acc pl masc) and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Take care that no one forfeits the grace of God; and that no root of bitterness grows (phyousa | φύουσα | pres act ptcp nom sg fem) up and causes trouble and by it many are defiled.
Other seed fell into good soil, and when it came (phyen | φυέν | aor pass ptcp nom sg neut) up, it produced fruit a hundredfold.” As he was saying these things he began to call out, “Let the one who has ears to hear, hear.”
Who serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants (phyteuei | φυτεύει | pres act ind 3 sg) a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of its milk?
The one who plants (phyteuōn | φυτεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive his wages on the basis of his work.
So neither the one who plants (phyteuōn | φυτεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) nor the one who waters is anything, but God is the one who gives the growth.
Then he began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted (ephyteusen | ἐφύτευσεν | aor act ind 3 sg) a vineyard and leased it to tenants; then he went away for quite some time.
