and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal; and around the throne, close by the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes (ophthalmōn | ὀφθαλμῶν | gen pl masc) in front and in back.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so you can be rich; and white garments to clothe yourself so your shameful nakedness will not be exposed; and salve to put on your eyes (ophthalmous | ὀφθαλμούς | acc pl masc) so you can see!

“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The Son of God, who has eyes (ophthalmous | ὀφθαλμούς | acc pl masc) like a flame of fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze, has this to say:

His head and his hair were white, like white wool, like snow, and his eyes (ophthalmoi | ὀφθαλμοί | nom pl masc) were like a flame of fire.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye (ophthalmos | ὀφθαλμός | nom sg masc) will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the tribes of earth will wail on account of him. So shall it be! Amen.

For all that is in the world — the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes (ophthalmōn | ὀφθαλμῶν | gen pl masc), the pride of possession — is not from the Father but from the world.

But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness; he walks in the darkness and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes (ophthalmous | ὀφθαλμούς | acc pl masc).

That which has existed from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes (ophthalmois | ὀφθαλμοῖς | dat pl masc), which we looked upon and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life —

They have eyes (ophthalmous | ὀφθαλμούς | acc pl masc) full of adultery that do not stop sinning. They seduce unstable souls and have hearts well trained in greed. Accursed brood!

For the eyes (ophthalmoi | ὀφθαλμοί | nom pl masc) of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
