But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray (proseuchomenoi | προσευχόμενοι | pres mid ptcp nom pl masc) in the Holy Spirit.

Then he (prosēyxato | προσηύξατο | aor mid ind 3 sg) prayed (prosēyxato | προσηύξατο | aor mid ind 3 sg) again, and the heavens poured down rain and the earth produced its harvest.

Elijah was a man exactly like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months no rain fell on the earth.

I desire, then, that the men should pray (proseuchesthai | προσεύχεσθαι | pres mid inf ) in every place by lifting up holy hands, without anger and arguing.

Finally, brothers, pray (proseuchesthe | προσεύχεσθε | pres mid imperative 2 pl) for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, as in fact it was among you.

With this in view we pray (proseuchometha | προσευχόμεθα | pres mid ind 1 pl) for you constantly, that our God will count you worthy of his calling, and by his power bring to fulfillment every good resolve and work of faith,
