Just as I urged you to stay (prosmeinai | προσμεῖναι | aor act inf ) on in Ephesus while I was traveling to Macedonia, so that you might command certain people not to continue teaching any different doctrine
Paul, after remaining (prosmeinas | προσμείνας | aor act ptcp nom sg masc) there for a number of days, said farewell to the brothers and sailed away to Syria, and with him were Priscilla and Aquila. At Cenchreae he had his head shaved, for he had taken a vow.
And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, were persuading them to continue (prosmenein | προσμένειν | pres act inf ) in the grace of God.
When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he began to exhort them all to (prosmenein | προσμένειν | pres act inf ) remain (prosmenein | προσμένειν | pres act inf ) faithful (prosmenein | προσμένειν | pres act inf ) to the Lord in the purpose of their hearts,
“I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed (prosmenousin | προσμένουσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) with me three days already and have had nothing to eat.
Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they (prosmenousin | προσμένουσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) have (prosmenousin | προσμένουσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) already been (prosmenousin | προσμένουσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) with (prosmenousin | προσμένουσιν | pres act ind 3 pl) me three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint from exhaustion on the way.”
For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance (proslēmpsis | πρόσλημψις | nom sg fem) mean but life from the dead?
Therefore accept (proslambanesthe | προσλαμβάνεσθε | pres mid imperative 2 pl) one another even as Christ has (proselabeto | προσελάβετο | aor mid ind 3 sg) also accepted (proselabeto | προσελάβετο | aor mid ind 3 sg) you, for the glory of God.
The one who eats everything must not hold in contempt the one who does not and the one who abstains must not judge the one who eats, for God has (proselabeto | προσελάβετο | aor mid ind 3 sg) accepted (proselabeto | προσελάβετο | aor mid ind 3 sg) him.
