For in this way all will be able to (prophēteuein | προφητεύειν | pres act inf ) prophesy (prophēteuein | προφητεύειν | pres act inf ) one by one, with the result that all may learn and all be encouraged,

But if all are prophesying (prophēteuōsin | προφητεύωσιν | pres act subj 3 pl), and an unbeliever or outsider comes in, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,

Now I would like all of you to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy (prophēteuēte | προφητεύητε | pres act subj 2 pl). The one (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) who (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) prophesies (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may receive edification.

The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) edifies the church.

On the other hand, the one who prophesies (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) speaks to people for their edification, encouragement, and consolation.

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy (prophēteuēte | προφητεύητε | pres act subj 2 pl).

For we know in part and we (prophēteuomen | προφητεύομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) prophesy (prophēteuomen | προφητεύομεν | pres act ind 1 pl) in part,

but any wife who prays or prophesies (prophēteuousa | προφητεύουσα | pres act ptcp nom sg fem) with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same as a woman who has her head shaved.

Any man who prays or prophesies (prophēteuōn | προφητεύων | pres act ptcp nom sg masc) with his head covered disgraces his head,
