And although they wanted to arrest him, they were afraid of the crowds because they held him to be a prophet (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc).

But if we say, ‘From man,’ we are afraid of the crowd, for they hold that John was a prophet.” (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc)

And the crowds said, “This is the prophet (prophētēs | προφήτης | nom sg masc), Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee.”

This took place in order that what had been spoken by the prophet (prophētou | προφήτου | gen sg masc) might be fulfilled, saying,

And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” (prophētōn | προφητῶν | gen pl masc)

And though Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the people because they considered him to be a prophet (prophētēn | προφήτην | acc sg masc).

And they were deeply offended at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet (prophētēs | προφήτης | nom sg masc) is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.”

so that what was spoken by the prophet (prophētou | προφήτου | gen sg masc) might be fulfilled, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

I tell you the truth, many prophets (prophētai | προφῆται | nom pl masc) and righteous people longed to see the things you are seeing but did not see them, and to hear the things you are hearing but did not hear them.

But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet (prophētou | προφήτου | gen sg masc).
