Now when day came, there was no little commotion among the soldiers (stratiōtais | στρατιώταις | dat pl masc) as to what had become of Peter.

Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was asleep between two soldiers (stratiōtōn | στρατιωτῶν | gen pl masc), bound with two chains; and guards before the door were guarding the prison.

When he had seized him, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads of four soldiers (stratiōtōn | στρατιωτῶν | gen pl masc) each to guard him, wishing after the Passover to bring him out to the people.

When the angel who spoke to him had gone away, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier (stratiōtēn | στρατιώτην | acc sg masc) from among those who waited on him,

Instead, one of the soldiers (stratiōtōn | στρατιωτῶν | gen pl masc) pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water came out.

So the soldiers (stratiōtai | στρατιῶται | nom pl masc) came and broke the legs of the first man, then those of the other one who had been crucified with him.

So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it” — that the Scripture might be fulfilled that says, “They divided my garments among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots.” So the soldiers (stratiōtai | στρατιῶται | nom pl masc) did these things.

When the soldiers (stratiōtai | στρατιῶται | nom pl masc) crucified Jesus, they took his garments and separated them into four shares, one share for each soldier (stratiōtē | στρατιώτῃ | dat sg masc). They also took his tunic, which was seamless, woven from top to bottom as a single piece.

And the soldiers (stratiōtai | στρατιῶται | nom pl masc) twisted some thorns into a crown and placed it on his head, and they threw a purple robe around him.

The soldiers (stratiōtai | στρατιῶται | nom pl masc), also, mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine
